How to Add a Watermark to a PDF
Watermarks are used to mark documents as confidential, draft, or proprietary. This tool embeds your text directly into the PDF pages — it cannot be removed without editing the PDF.
How to use this tool
- Drop your PDF onto the upload area or click to browse
- Type your watermark text — e.g. CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, or your company name
- Adjust the opacity slider — lower for subtle, higher for prominent
- Preview updates in real time below the controls
- Click Add Watermark and download
Common watermark texts
- CONFIDENTIAL — for sensitive internal documents
- DRAFT — for documents not yet finalised
- DO NOT COPY — to discourage reproduction
- Your company or personal name — for ownership marking
